This KS1 history workshop explores how emergency service vehicles have changed over time, from horse drawn carts to modern electric vehicles. Pupils will discover how advances in transport helped firefighters, police officers, ambulance crews and other emergency services respond more quickly and effectively. Through discussion, observation and simple historical comparison, children will learn how vehicles from the past were different from those we see today and why change happened over time.
