From the Great Fire of London to People Who Help Us, our learning team delivers engaging, curriculum-linked workshops at the museum for all age groups and abilities. Sessions are designed to be hands-on, inclusive and inspiring, using real objects, stories and activities to bring learning to life.

Let us bring history to you. With a range of loan boxes and outreach workshops to choose from, we can support learning in schools, community settings and beyond — suitable for both the young and the young at heart.

Please note: Group visits are required to pre book in advance. Any groups that have not pre-booked their visits may be denied entry into the museum. Pre-booked groups will be allocated booking forms, an invoice and provided with a room for lunch. All pre-booked group invoices are due for payment on or before the date of your visit.

Education workshops

Bring learning to life with our hands-on workshops delivered right here at the museum. Designed for groups of all ages, our curriculum-linked sessions combine interactive activities, real objects and expert guidance to make topics like history, science and personal safety exciting and memorable.

Whether you’re exploring the everyday heroes behind People Who Help Us, travelling back to 1666 in The Great Fire of London, investigating life during World War II, or tackling environment-focused challenges, our workshops invite learners to explore, question and take part in active learning.

Workshops run in our dedicated learning spaces and are available for school classes, youth groups and community organisations. With support from partners such as South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, some sessions may be discounted to help make powerful learning accessible.
