We have missed you all so much!

We have introduced new measures to help the museum remain a COVID secure space. The health, safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our greatest priority so whist things will be a little different, we are excited to be able to welcome you back.
​
Our opening times will remain Wednesday to Sunday but to assist in managing visitor numbers we ask that you continue to pre-book your slot and purchase tickets online before visiting. Timed arrival slots will be at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00.

What to expect from your visit to NESM:

Admission:

Visitors can now book advance tickets online. Click here to buy now.

Visitors are able to walk-ins on the day without pre booking. However we recommend you book in advance.

When you arrive please continue to use the NHS Test and Trace QR code.
Arrival:

Information will be displayed at the main entrance to let you know about our new measures to help keep the museum a COVID secure space.

You may have to queue a short while outside before entering the museum.
-
We ask all visitors over the age of 11 to continue to wear a face covering during your visit.

The museum is housed within a Victorian building so our entrance has limited space.
Social Distancing:

We have introduced a suggested route around some sections of the museum to ensure you don’t miss a thing. You can walk the route as often as you like, so please don’t worry if you think you’ve missed something. Please stick to the route and allow others to safely pass if needed.

Contactless card payments will be the primary payment method available.
Hygiene and Cleaning:

Hand sanitising facilities will be available at various points around the museum.

We have introduced thorough and frequent cleaning schedules throughout the museum.

Safety screens will be in place in the admissions and shop area.
Toilets:

Toilet facilities are located on the ground floor and 1st floor.

We have increased our cleaning and sanitising schedule of these areas.​
Tack Room Coffee Shop:

Our coffee shop will reopen but limited coffee shop seating will be available at this time.

Visitors will be unable to have a picnic in our coffee shop. In busier times our Learning Rooms will be open for picnics.
As a reminder, to help us keep visitors, staff and volunteers safe, you will be asked to:

Continue to maintain social distancing from other visitors.

Use the hand sanitising stations provided and wash your hands regularly.

Continue to wear a face covering / mask when indoors.

Scan the NHS Test and Trace QR.

Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue and dispose of in the bins provided.

Not attend the museum if you have Covid-19 symptoms:

a high temperature
-
a new, continuous cough
-
a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

current guidance is that you should be isolating due to having Covid-19 symptoms (10 days isolation) or if you have had contact with someone with Covid-19 symptoms (14 days isolation).

Contact the NHS Test and Trace system if you become unwell with Covid-19 symptoms after a visit.

Follow our new guidelines displayed around the museum. Our staff will let you know of any further measures which may be put in place to keep you safe.
