Rocket Cart

This Board of Trade Rocket Cart would have once been used to carry 'rocket' equipment to the coast to aid in the rescue of sinking ships. This exhibit is currently in our off-site store.
Quad bike

This 4x4 ATV (all terrain vehicle) was used by the RNLI by Lifeguards.
Toyota

This Toyota Hilux is currently on display at the museum and served all its life with HM Coastguard.
RSPCA Horse Ambulance
1916
This RSPCA horse-drawn, horse ambulance was built for the first world war in aid of rescuing horses from the front line. This exhibit is currently on display in the museum.
Lifeboat
1988
This Tyne Class Lifeboat named 'City of Sheffield' is the largest exhibit we have and is kindly on loan to the museum from the RNLI. From time to time we hold "on-board days" where visitors can climb on-board this amazing rescuer.

Mines Rescue

This Bedford CF 4x4 was used by the Mines Rescue Service and is currently stored off-site awaiting resturation.
